Do you have expertise in, and passion for Medical Affairs in Oncology? AstraZeneca US Medical Affairs Oncology is looking for a highly qualified and experienced continuing education-professional to support our medical education strategy and outcomes performance. Reporting to the Head of US Medical Excellence, the successful candidate will develop and execute AstraZeneca’s USMA-led efforts to identify new or emerging approaches to assessment of impact of continuing medical education programs.

What you'll do

In collaboration with US Medical Affairs leadership, the medical franchise teams and the Medical Education Grants Office (MEGO), this position will:

  • Identify new education capabilities, including outlining core education objectives and mapping format competencies to tactics
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Maintain familiarity with current industry practices and regulatory requirements and guidelines that affect medical education and outcomes research
  • Develop and lead evolved ways of working across the organization and develop benchmarks and metrics for AZ-supported medical education programs.
  • Develop and implement plans to disseminate research results at professional conferences and manuscripts

What you need

  • Advanced clinical or outcomes research, public health, or a related degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, MS, MPH, etc.)
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • 3-5 years of related experience in healthcare, education-related research, or in certified medical education. This may include a medical education/communications company, academic institution/hospital/university center, medical society, or a pharmaceutical company.
  • Experience in assessing the impact of continuing medical education through valid and reliable methodologies and appropriate statistical procedures
  • Strong knowledge of and proficiency with basic through advanced level statistics
  • Understand the rules associated with assessment development and execution
  • Ability to think strategically while drawing meaningful conclusions and to present these findings in a compelling way to those who lack this expertise
  • Ability to drive consensus within/among distinct and diverse teams
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a focus in research, healthcare, clinical, statistics, data science, or related field
  • Familiarity with CME/CE/CPD standards and processes

Nice to have

  • Power BI proficiency
  • Familiarity of shared networks and cloud-based systems such as SharePoint
  • Knowledge of educational research implementation (IRB process, data collection, and management)
