Medical Coder - Remote | Wfh

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Coding Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare support staff, you will play an integral role in ensuring accurate coding and billing practices. Your expertise will help us provide exceptional care to our patients while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Review and code daily E & M visits with precision and attention to detail.
Extract essential information from operative reports, transcription, and various documents.
Ensure accurate assignment of CPT codes, associated modifiers, and ICD-10 codes for billing documents.
Offer coding and billing education to providers, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
Investigate, correct, resubmit, and manage appeals for denied claims.
Stay updated on standard and unique payer policies and procedures.
Maintain a consistent 90% coding accuracy rate.
Perform other assigned duties to support the team.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Proven ability to pursue self-education when necessary.
Demonstrated excellence in customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
Certification by AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, CCS-P) is required.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Medical Coding Experience.
Experience with Asthma, Allergy, and Colo-Rectal surgery coding is advantageous.
Physical Requirements And Work Environment
Primarily sedentary work, involving occasional lifting up to 10lbs.
Use of repetitive motion associated with operating computers and office equipment.
Work takes place in a climate-controlled indoor environment.
