Responsibilities

Must be Bilingual in English and Spanish

We are in search of a bilingual, outgoing, and energetic representative to provide excellent support to our customers. This role is a dedicated resource within the Medical Billing Department to assist with answering customer inquiries, concerns, and disputes regarding their accounts.

The Billing and Reconciliation Representative 2 will review and determine discrepancies and solve for them timely to ensure submission of a clean claim. This role performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer support assignments. Typically, tasks are semi-routine assignments, however, this role will be cross-functioning to support other teams for bailout tasks as needed. Follows standard policies/practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion.

Work Schedule: This requires someone who can cover an 8-5 work schedule for the Pacific Standard time zone and possible OT to cover EST/ CST.
The schedule would be 8 am PST to 5pm PST, 10am to 7pm CST, 11am EST to 8pm EST.

Essential Functions: (include but are not limited to)

  • Addresses customer needs which may include complex benefit questions, resolving issues, and educating members.
  • Corrects enrollment and cash posting discrepancies as they relate to billing.
  • Process orders, forms, applications, and requests.
  • Must interact with patients in a respectful and amicable manner. Employees are expected to treat patients with compassion and protect their rights.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal departments.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints regarding account inquiries for billing and collection questions.
  • Successfully support the daily operations of inbound and outbound member call center teams.
  • Review and update customer records on computerized data base.
  • Escalates unresolved and pending customer grievances.
  • Provides first contact and resolution to external as well as internal inquiries received by phone or electronically.
  • Records details of inquiries, comments, complaints, and actions taken.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of work-related experience with customer service in the healthcare industry.
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish)
  • Demonstrated ability in using computer and Windows PC applications, which includes strong keyboard and navigation skills including ability to learn new computer programs/EMR’s.
  • Effective verbal and listening communication skills.
  • Demonstrates high level of problem-solving skills and ability to follow through on tasks assigned.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to manage multiple or competing priorities, including use of multiple computer applications simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Programs including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 or more years’ experience with out of service area knowledge and applications
  • 1 or more years of experience with e-Clinical Works
  • Experience with insurance verifications, medical billing and insurance knowledge.

Additional Information:

Associates are required to be fully COVID vaccinated, including booster, or undergo weekly COVID testing and wear a face covering while at work. The weekly testing will need to be done through an approved Humana vendor, and unvaccinated associates should follow all social distancing and masking protocols if they are required to come into a Humana facility or work outside of their home.
