Medical Assistant - Telephone Triage - Work From Home Option

Squirrel Hill Health Center (SHHC), a dynamic and growing Federally Qualified Health Center in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking a full time Medical Assistant -Telephone Triage to work in both its Squirrel Hill office. Opportunity to work from home several days a week after 6 months of training and satisfactory performance! The Medical Assistant - Telephone Triage will primarily provide preauthorization and prescription services to patients in our Primary Care Center.

The Medical Assistant - Telephone Triage Will Manage Prior Authorization Prescription Requests By Providing The Following

The Medical Assistant - Telephone Triage will act as a liaison among patients, clinicians and staff primarily by phone or in person. The Medical Assistant - Telephone Triage will have excellent interpersonal skills (both in person and on the phone) and will effectively follow logical and timely approaches to solving problems and making decisions.

• Triage telephone calls from patients
• Communicate prescription requests via phone, fax or portal via EHR
• Act as a liaison between clinicians and pharmacies
• Troubleshoot prescription concerns with clinical staff

Qualifications

• Experience with electronic health records required
• Medical Assistant certification from an accredited school
• CPR certified.
• Must be able to work a rotating shift including evenings (either Tuesday or Thursday) and week ends (either Saturday or Sunday)
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical setting
