Job Description
A New York City-based health services network is looking to add a certified Medical Assistant (MA) to their growing team at one of their Manhattan clinics. In this role, the Medical Assistant (MA) will be responsible for providing clinical and clerical support to the the Physicians and patients of the facility.


About The Opportunity


  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Hours: 8am to 5pm, 8:30am to 5:30pm, or 9am to 6pm
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Setting: Clinic
Responsibilities


The Medical Assistant (MA) Will


  • Warmly greet and engage in friendly conversation with patients and guests; answer phones, direct calls, and take messages
  • Collect cash from patients for charges and co-payments and provides patient receipts
  • Restock exam/treatment rooms and medical supply inventory on a daily basis
  • Monitor patient flow in waiting room and assess patients' and guests' needs as they wait
  • Perform other duties, as needed
  • Ensure that all pertinent equipment is sterilized according to schedule based on the purpose for and use of the equipment
  • Check-in patients and prepare and process appropriate forms
  • Assist the Care teams with campaigns/initiatives, such as the Influenza program and the health outcome survey and closing gaps in care
  • Check-out patients at the end of the visit, verifying that patients have all required documentation prior to leaving the medical facility
  • Perform a variety of patient care functions based on age-specific needs
  • Complete all necessary forms in an accurate and timely manner
Qualifications

  • Patient oriented
  • Medical Assistant (MA) certification
  • Highly organized
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
  • 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant (MA)
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant (MA) program
Desired Skills


  • Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
  • EPIC experience
  • EKG and Phlebotomy certifications
  • 3+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant (MA)
