Job Description

TITLE: Media Director


LOCATION: New Haven, CT (Currently Remote)

REPORTS TO: TBD

FLSA: Salaried Exempt

The Opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced Media Director to facilitate the development of strategies and the implementation of advertising campaigns that promote our clients. If you have previous Marketing experience building effective promotional strategies, we would like to meet you. To be successful in this role, you should be familiar with different media types, from offline advertising sites (like print, radio, magazines and out of home billboards) to digital channels. Ultimately, this role will manage the vendor client services through thoughtful, results-driven media campaigns and ensure our advertising costs are within scope and budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a cohesive advertising message across campaigns
  • Determine the best media planning outlet mix for promotional strategies
  • Prepare additional promotional projects to support new product launches
  • Negotiate with media channels to close competitive deals
  • Build long-term relationships with media partners influencers to promote our brand
  • Create new campaigns to reach a broader audience
  • Develop POVs as needed in response to client and planning team requests
  • Work together with creative teams to ensure creative specifications of plan are satisfied
  • Optimize advertising strategies for varying audiences and channels
  • Regularly report advertising campaign results (including revenues and costs)
  • Design and review advertising budgets in collaboration with the Marketing Director
  • Present media plans to clients who may, or may not, have expertise in media
  • Monitor online and offline ad campaigns (e.g. on radio, TV, websites, magazines and billboards)


Requirements

  • Experience negotiating with and managing independent vendors
  • Familiarity with digital marketing
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Highly collaborative
  • Experience evaluating and recommending strategy and placements for digital campaigns
  • BSc in Marketing, Business Administration or similar field
  • Working knowledge of analytics tools (e.g. GfK MRI, Moat and Nielsen IMS)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with budget planning and KPIs
  • Ability to manage and combine data
  • Knowledge of different types of media channels
  • Proven work experience as a Media Director, Media Planner or similar role
  • Demonstrable experience with building effective advertising campaigns


Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of experience in an ad agency or marketing firm
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or other related field
