Mechanical Estimator Jobs

Experience and Education:
Education: High School
Experience: 4-7 Years

Responsible for the following duties:
Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate. Apply information gained from review of bid packages along with pre-existing knowledge of standards and best practices to develop estimates.
Review design and bidding documents to prepare quantity takeoffs of material and equipment. Estimate costs of manpower and material needs, preparing proposals and establishing completion dates based on an analysis of project technical requirements. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office Suite programs is required.
Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing in preparation of a complete project estimate. Collects and analyzes all project costs, including raw materials, labor, equipment and tooling to ensure estimates are accurate.
Transition project to construction phase and collaborate with Project Manager on procurement strategies and planning.
Capable of prioritizing multiple bids concurrently and possess the ability to complete estimates with accurate time and budget projections. Self-directed and self-motivated.
Interpret and apply complex rules and regulations.
Problem resolution requires considerable analysis of multiple components or conflicting issues.
Identify new services and opportunities for process improvement.

Physical responsibilities of the position:
Required to Lift Carry and Pull 21-50 lbs: occasionally.
Required to Lift Carry and Pull 51-100 lbs: occasionally.
Frequently required to: Sit
Occasionally required to: Stand, Bend/Stoop, Crawl, Kneel, Crouch Walk and use of Arm/Leg Controls.
