Job Description

Director, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Engineering


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Communication and organizational skills.
  • - Excellent verbal, written, computer, technical data, spreadsheet, and presentation
  • And/or federal within an EPC.
  • - Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
  • - Bachelor's degree in mechanical or similar engineering curriculum
  • - Experience in managing Mechanical design projects.
  • - 15+ plus years of mechanical design experience in the MEP industry, preferably in commercial
  • - Capacity to mentor and train younger engineers.

Desired

Skills and Experience:

  • - Preferred design experience to include: Heat recovery, heat exchanger, chilled water, steam, compressed air, industrial gases, and chemical process piping.
  • - Proficiency in the following computer applications:

o AutoCAD

o Autodesk Plant 3D

o Autodesk Inventor

o Aspen Modeling experience is preferred but not required.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • - Ability to travel as needed.
  • - Review, edit, and develop project specifications specific to their discipline
  • - Interface with vendors to accomplish equipment sizing, hydronic piping system design and selection of mechanical equipment
  • - Working knowledge of industry codes and standards, design specifications, and construction
  • As required to verify installation compliance with design plans and specifications.
  • - Design custom MEP systems to facilitate process design requirements.
  • - Provide regular performance feedback and annual merit reviews to the design team.
  • Development of the profession or the regulatory guidelines that form the framework of the
  • - Create and review mechanical system specifications, drawings, calculations, and submittals.
  • Heat exchangers, ductwork and supports.
  • - Calculate thermal loads, pressure drop, for process systems to ensure proper sizing.
  • Concept, leading the development, actively reviewing work products for accuracy and completeness during design, and taking responsibility for overall quality of design and construction documents.

  • - Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, trends, and developments in the field of mechanical engineering.
  • - Develop mechanical system schematics, layouts, P&ID, details, schedules, and logic diagrams.

  • - Attend and participate in Local, Regional and National Organizations that are involved in the
