Mechanical Design Engineer Jobs

job summary:

Our client, a leading manufacturer and distributor of off-highway power products, is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to design, select, and develop new hydraulic and cooling products and systems to meet product performance, durability, reliability, and cost goals. In this role you will also maintain and improve existing hydraulic and cooling system designs as required to support machine production and field service.

responsibilities:

• Uses SOLIDWORKS to design and document machine components and systems.
• Can provide accurate technical information for the areas they control and will be fully competent in internal processes and systems.
• Manages one or more medium sized design projects while balancing many additional smaller projects.
• Assists groups throughout the organization on technical inquiries and is the primary engineering resource for the hydraulic and cooling systems.
• Works to determine root cause and resolution of machine non-conformance as necessary.
• Designs, selects, and develops new hydraulic and cooling products and systems to meet product performance, durability, reliability, and cost goals.
• Documents changes through ECN process, completes paperwork, and communicates change details to affected parties.
• Maintains and improves existing hydraulic and cooling system designs as required to support machine production and field service.
• Reacts to related production and field issues in a timely manner, minimizing interruptions to manufacturing and machine down time in the field.
• Travels to manufacturing partners, trade shows, technical conferences, or training as necessary.
