Math Interventionist Jobs

Global Village Academy is an innovative charter school. Students in grades K-5 participate in a language immersion model receiving content in instruction in both English and their choice of an immersion language: Spanish, Mandarin or Russian. Students spend half their day in English and half their day in their immersion language, following a 50/50 model. Students in grades 6-8 follow a traditional middle school schedule. GVA is truly a "global village." Our immersion teachers come from all over the world, each bringing their unique culture and language into the classroom. United by a common core, students are challenged to become world class thinkers, capable of engaging ideas using multiple languages and cross-cultural perspectives, through internationally benchmarked curriculum spanning each language village.

Essential Job Duties

• Collaborates with teachers, administration, and families to help identify best practices for individual and small groups of students
• Uses identified research-based interventions focusing specifically on individual student needs
• Provides diagnostic assessments for students as needed
• Assists with identifying students for placement in intervention groups
• Participates in meetings with teachers, administration, and families to discuss student placement and progress
• Provides data to school teams and participates in decisions about student progress
• Maintains data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress
• Other duties may be assigned
• Communicates with teachers, administration, and families regarding student progress
• May support 150+ students each week, depending on need
• Provides high quality mathematics instruction to small groups in English
• Supports implementation of assessment tools and data management systems
• Uses data to provide instruction to students and to bring their skills to grade-level

Minimum Requirement

• BA or BS from an accredited College or University.
