Material Handler - Warehousing/Shipping

Position: Material Handler
Location: Sumner, Washington
Pay: \$20.00 - \$21.00 / Hour, DOE
Day shift: Monday -- Friday \| 7:00 a.m. -- 3:30 p.m.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Operate hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, or other handling equipment.
• Use bulkheads and load locks when loading & unloading less than truckload (LTL) temp-controlled trailers.
• Professionally interface with other employees and the public.
• Case pick and palletize orders.
• Utilize load and stop-order loading cards, temperature consideration, and weight distribution.
• Perform basic warehouse cleaning and forklift/ equipment maintenance tasks.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOP) and instructions.
• Receive temp-controlled freight.
• Sort, count by case and pallet, tag and temperature check freight.

• Effectively follow all established policies, procedures, and safety rules.

Experience, Abilities And Qualities Required

• *
• High school diploma or technical certificate and previous work-related experience.
• Knowledge of bill of ladings and other shipping documents.
• Work in a multi-temperature warehouse, up to freezing temperatures.
• Work with limited assistance/supervision.
• *
• Reliable and committed with a strong sense of urgency.
• Forklift certification. (Not required)
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
• Ability to lift fifty pounds and stand for up to ten-hour days.
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
