Description


The Material Handling position covers a variety of Supply Chain and Facility responsibilities in our start-up company. The primary function is to manage the organization’s inventory. Inventory includes items supporting the manufacturing, engineering, and office areas. This position requires a multi-faceted individual who can cover a variety of responsibilities and tasks in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Maintain accurate electronic records of inventory issued and on-hand.
  • Support Cycle Counts when requested.
  • Package Supplier returns and miscellaneous shipments as needed.
  • Maintain safe, clean, and organized warehouse/storage areas in compliance with company, OSHA and other standards and regulations.
  • Act as gatekeeper to control access to inventory.
  • Release required inventory to proper internal personnel.
  • Put away parts from incoming shipments.
  • Gather and process part requests from engineers and technicians.
  • Support Receiving functions as required.


Requirements


Required Skills & Abilities:


  • Thorough understanding of dock and warehouse processes.
  • Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify goods/items.
  • Self-starter with a mindset for continuous improvement.
  • Thorough understanding of inventory control processes.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and/or inventory software to maintain records, input data, and create reports.
  • Ability to work with a variety people including co-workers and cross-functional departments.
  • Ability to multi-task and change direction easily.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be effective and creative in a highly cost-conscious environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Extremely organized and able to work with minimal direction.


Education & Experience


  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prefer minimum of 1 year of direct inventory experience to include Inventory Control, Shipping, Receiving and/or Warehouse positions.


Physical Requirements


  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting and/or reaching.
  • Must be able to work on site at our Stow, Massachusetts location.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in multiple buildings on our premises. This may require walking between locations in inclement weather.
