Job Description
Job Title: Marketing/Media Specialist


Job Summary


  • This position is responsible for the Marketing and Media Operations of hotel events. The position ensures all Marketing, Media, Social Media is exceptionally created and maintained and statistics analyzed and reports maintained. The incumbent supports an exceptional experience for guests regardless of the event setting, which could be of any size for weddings, receptions, parties, business/corporate or private events and parties, breakfast/lunch/dinners/teas, etc.… for all events. The incumbent is responsible for supporting the Events Team in maintaining a high quality of service and atmosphere while working closely with the others to ensure overall event execution for the hotel.


Responsibilities, Duties & Accountabilities


The core, critical and essential work duties, functions and responsibilities of the position are as follows:


  • Regular and routine attendance and punctuality is required
  • Working with vendors/IT Specialist will design and create materials and information for events and other information or materials as needed
  • Performs consistent analytics for events and event related data, maintaining reports and other information for management and the Hotel Owners
  • Responds professionally and proactively to Social Media posts or inquiries and ensures any issues are resolved timely and adequately
  • Coordinates the graphic art designs and web-based edits for hotel information such as events, menus and any other web-site changes
  • Maintains the Media and Marketing information for Sales and Promotion of the hotel’s events.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned
  • Be able to self-report at least a 3/5 proficiency using InDesign for menus and marketing ads.
  • Ensures management receives needed information as requested on a timely and accurate basis
  • Supports the Supervisor and Events Team to provide the highest standards of quality and service for events experience; and ensure guests are treated with the utmost and timely respect and professional courtesy, from the start to the end of the service
  • Courteously addresses with tact and professionalism all customer complaints, concerns and issues
  • Supports the management in providing expertise in working with event information for reporting results, sales/profits and projecting future growth
  • Availability and willingness to work evenings, week-ends and holidays
  • Demonstrated computer skills, preferably working with Adobe InDesign and graphic software, Microsoft Office products, Hotel Systems and programs and the ability to successfully navigate and maintain current knowledge and skills working with technology.

Position Requirements And Qualifications


  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in the field of event promotion, planning and coordination, with strong customer service skills and the ability to work with others to ensure excellent and timely delivery of customer experience
  • Demonstrated computer skills, preferably working with Microsoft Office products, Hotel Systems and programs and the ability to successfully navigate and maintain current knowledge and skills working with technology
  • The following physical demands are requirements and must be met in order for the successful performance of the job position: This position requires the incumbent to speak, hear, see, stand for long periods of time, walk frequently and use full reach and range of motion in arms, hands and fingers, with continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills, to bend, stoop, kneel and lift (floor to waist – up to 25 lbs., waist to shoulders – up to 20lbs.), carry, push, pull and frequently climb stairs
  • Associate’s Degree in Hotel/Hospitality and/or Event Planning, Marketing or Business-Related field of study
  • Demonstrated ability to apply strategic business logic while making sound decisions under pressure
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with other employees, exercising tact and professionalism in all matters
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in dealing with sensitive information, exercising considerable discretion and good judgment, demonstrated conscientious and dependable
  • Demonstrated above-average skills in performing analytics and reporting
  • Demonstrated customer service experience working with the general public and the ability to tactfully and professionally address public concerns and complaints
  • Demonstrated professional demeanor and excellent oral and written communication skills
