The Marketing Lead will take responsibility for supporting the marketing output and activity within our Local and Regional Commercial Fuel and Lubricants business globally, with a specific focus on our key markets in the US and UK.
At World Kinect Energy Services, our marketing activity has a sharp commercial edge – we’re focused on driving organic growth through generating new business, retaining profitable customers and cross-selling to existing accounts.
The successful candidate will be a talented and experienced generalist B2B marketer with strong strategic acumen, who’s comfortable working both upper- and mid-funnel: not only to generate and qualify leads through marketing campaigns and initiatives, but also working closely with sales colleagues to manage these opportunities through to close, measuring returns at every stage.
You’ll be numerate and commercially aware, ideally with experience in working within an international business. You’ll also be an advocate of the solution-selling methodology, and able to understand and articulate how our product and service offering solves key customer pain points.
This is a newly created role, working remotely, based in the US (Eastern time zone). The role reports to a Senior Marketing Manager and will work within our Global Land Marketing Team as well as cross-functionally to support our matrixed teams, with teammates and key stakeholders based across the US, UK, and EMEA.
There will be some requirement for domestic and international travel.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and planning
  • Work with key commercial sales leads and our global marketing team to define, develop, and execute our annual marketing plan, to feed our business priorities and our organic growth plans.
Marketing execution and management
  • Execute digital strategy across various channels (SEO, PPC, social media, online events).
  • Working with internal marketing operations team, lead and manage the delivery of targeted cross-channel campaigns to help us generate new business, increase retention of profitable existing customers, and cross-sell key products and services to existing accounts.
  • Help define, create, execute, and revise a program of targeted multichannel campaigns, designed to create stickiness, inform and educate our customer-base, and warm-up leads.
Customer Experience and Brand management
  • Actively represent the customer, helping to assess and understand key pain points and how we can help them, as well as support the implementation of our Branded Customer Experience vision and plan.
  • Input into brand positioning and act as a brand champion – helping to continually improve and refine our brand at key customer touchpoints.
Customer and Market insight
  • Work with our internal analytics teams to design and evolve actionable customer segmentations, supporting a robust, business-wide understanding of who our customers are, what we mean to them, what they mean to us, and how to better serve them.
  • Stay current with trends in-and-around our key lines of business and market segments.
Sales Enablement
  • Collaborate across business functions to support sales teams to sell more effectively.
Communication and Presentations
  • Represent marketing at key stakeholder meetings both in person and virtually, presenting activity and understanding business context to shape marketing requirements.
Skills

  • Fully conversant in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • A proven ability to build cross-functional relationships. Experience working in a Matrix environment strongly preferred
Essential
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Campaign planning, development, execution, and measurement, to achieve tangible and quantifiable commercial outcomes
  • 5+ years’ experience in a marketing role
  • A deep understanding of and experience in a variety of different marketing channels: print, digital, content marketing, email, direct mail, events, affiliate marketing
  • Good commercial acumen. Numerate, and able to manage budgets and forecasts to appraise ROI
  • Demonstrated track record of a robust understanding of the customer buying process
  • Being able to articulate, craft and tailor messages to suit differing audiences
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, or equivalent training and evidence of continued professional development
  • Strong project management, multitasking and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with a high standard of English. Able to write proficiently and accurately, and present clearly
  • Leading design and delivery of prospect- and customer-engagement materials and messaging
  • Having generated, managed, tracked and effectively handed over MQLs to Sales, and having worked down the pipeline funnel to help these leads close
Desirable
  • Knowledge of digital marketing tools (Ceros, Eloqua, SEM Rush)
  • Understanding of Commercial and Industrial B2B market industry verticals, including of external and internal drivers affecting them
  • Experience working in an international role highly preferred
  • Experience marketing to Construction, Transportation, Manufacturing and Agricultural businesses
  • Experience executing digital PPC campaigns. Google Ad certification preferred
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (PhotoShop, InDesign and/or Illustrator) to amend artwork is a plus.
  • Experience in the Fuel and Energy sector
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM
