Job Description

GEICO is looking for a highly skilled Community Engagement Specialist to bring the GEICO brand to life on social media. GEICO strives to deepen connection with our audience through thoughtful and consistent engagement and purposeful content. We’re looking for a candidate who is culturally fluent and understands how community management can be used as a powerful tool to accomplish brand and business objectives.

As the Community Engagement Specialist, you are responsible for maintaining the voice of the GEICO brand via community engagement and social content. This role prioritizes, moderates, and responds to comments in a timely manner. You will work as a part of the Creative Social SWAT team to identify trends and create engaging social content on TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc. You are tuned in to everything social and cultural to help make the beloved GEICO brand come to life in Social Media. You proactively find opportunities to add GEICO’s unique perspective to social media, collaborate and enhance marketing campaigns, and are responsible for building meaningful conversations with our GEICO audience. This role reports to the Brand Manager/Strategist of Social.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2+ years' experience in a related role
  • Experience using Sprinklr for content planning and social listening
  • Ability to write effective copy, in line with the tone and integrity of the GEICO brand
  • Fast paced thinker that can keep up with social culture
  • Strong skill for concepting ideas driven by data that make an impact in the social media landscape
  • Deep knowledge of Social best practices for Organic
  • Ability to translate strategic business objectives into social media tactics
  • Exhibits sound judgement when choosing which content, creators, brands, comments, etc. to engage with


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for building and maintaining listening dashboards for Community Management in partnership with social media brand manager, research team, and creative analyst. Incorporates performance insights into content efforts
  • Traffics all Organic Social Posts and manages the editorial calendar via Sprinklr
  • Responsible for maintaining and adhering to the GEICO brand safety guidelines and policies in all social media interactions
  • Helps create social listening reports to inform team and provide culturally relevant creative opportunities
  • Concepts with fellow Social SWAT team members (Art and Copy) to create engaging content for Social
  • Monitors and responds to social media posts and serves as the first line of defense on all engagement comments, escalates up appropriately for content management
  • Rapid Brief development to produce quick-response content
  • Collaborates with counterparts in brand and creative team to ensure GEICO voice is consistent across platforms and campaigns are extended to social media where appropriate
  • Works with other departments like CRM and Service to ensure customer handling is routed to the appropriate team in a timely manner
  • Creates tactical briefs against and contributes to the Social Playbook (calendar of tentpole moments relevant in culture and community)

Location:

  • Remote with travel once week every two months
