Job Description
Title: Manufacturing/Process Engineer


Location: Glendale, KY (Near Louisville)


Salary: $70,000-$130,000, depending on qualifications and experience


We are hiring immediately for a Manufacturing Engineer or Process Engineer in Glendale, KY.


In this role you will have a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a key member of the start-up team, launching a joint venture EV manufacturing facility from the ground up.


A strong candidate will have a background within the automotive and / or electronics manufacturing industry. Our client is launching a state-of-the-art Electric Vehicle (EV) plant dedicated to producing batteries for Ford Electric Vehicles. This facility represents a pioneering venture in the EV sector, and they are seeking talented individuals to be part of their dynamic team. If you have a background in battery operations, any Tier 1 Ford experience, and a passion for innovation in manufacturing, we invite you to join our client on this exceptional opportunity.


Key Areas of Responsibility:


  • Manufacturing Process Engineering for EV Battery Assembly
  • Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement
  • OEE Optimization
  • Lead the resolution of assembly-related concerns and spearhead variability reduction and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Assembly Line Efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop action plans, investigate quality concerns, and implement corrective actions for internal and supplier processes.
  • Process Documentation and Compliance
  • Process Development and Execution
  • Identify constraints in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and drive root cause improvements to maximize production efficiency.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, and productivity within the assembly line.
  • Analyze root causes of Cell/Array scrap and drive waste reduction through mapping and corrective actions.
  • Champion best practices to optimize efficiency and throughput.
  • Ensure compliance with Plant, Corporate, Governmental, and Environmental standards, including ISO 14001.
  • Apply engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and refine manufacturing processes and products.
  • Create comprehensive process and instruction sheets to support quality methods and processes.
  • Conduct ergonomic evaluations of assembly tasks and implement corrective actions as necessary to enhance workplace safety and efficiency.
  • Spearhead the Manufacturing Process Engineering activities for the Final Assembly of EV batteries.


Minimum Requirements:


  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred) or related field.
  • Flexibility to support any shift in a 7-day work pattern.
  • Willingness to travel significantly during the initial plant start-up phase.
  • Strong leadership qualities with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills.
  • Experience: 5+ years of relevant manufacturing experience.


Additional experience in:


  • Visual Factory Management.
  • 8D and 5 Why corrective action and problem-solving techniques.
  • Lean Tools: 5S, Kanban, Poka-yoke, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • FMEA, PPAP, and DOEs (Design of Experiments).
  • TQM and Kaizen Methods.
  • Ergonomic analysis knowledge and experience.
