Role: Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Nebraska (Onsite)

Duration: Long Term

Job Type: Contract & Full time

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Generate and modify manufacturing process documentation and assuring that manufacturing processes and related documentation follow established policies and procedures.
  • Review all production order documentation for accuracy, including bill of materials and routings within the ERP System
  • Utilize LEAN, Six Sigma, and other best practice tools and principles for day-to-day problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with Design Engineering and quality department for successful new product launch
  • Work with supervisors to train operators how to manufacture products, proper material routing and handling methods, new equipment/fixture operation, troubleshooting and maintenance, among other areas as well as assist in investigating and solving production problems.
  • Work center focus to remove all non-value-added steps by providing (including but not limited to) documented process, required information, required tools, required components, logistics and required procedures.
  • Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to product, or processes and systems.
  • Assist in identifying equipment needs on the production floor to include but not limited to sourcing by supporting Purchasing department, installation of equipment, measuring ROI, and tracking/proving ROI data
  • Support, cost estimate and document all engineering changes.
  • Follow up with manufacturing to advise on first manufacturing run effectiveness.
  • Utilize PDCA principle to validate and maintain all manufacturing processes.
  • Provide production line support including, but not limited to, implementing process improvements, troubleshooting equipment, and addressing operator inquiries.
  • Perform cost analysis of engineering projects assigned with the objective of reducing cost of manufacturing without impairment of quality.
  • Design and develop manufacturing procedures, tooling fixtures, process sheets and fabrication print that result in sufficient capacity to meet customer demand while also promoting product quality, process efficiency, and operator safety
  • Meet or exceed labor content and product cost standards utilizing good assembly methodologies and ergonomics.
  • Interface with other department resources (i.e., sales, customer service, purchasing, quality etc.) in Design Reviews and other meetings to facilitate product launch and sustaining engineering
  • Support and maintain error-proofing methodologies along with facility and production cell enhancements.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with process and equipment validation.
  • Education:Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Manufacturing Engineering discipline.
  • Experience of 2+ years in manufacturing, heavy equipment manufacturing preferred.
  • AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience preferred.
