This position contributes to the overall success and strategic goals of the company by managing the daily operations and performance of the HMI Production Department in achieving productivity, quality, and safety goals.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the budgeting process, capital planning, staffing, and other elements to ensure financial and operational objectives are met.
  • Manage the facilities management function ensuring internal building maintenance and liaise with Landlord’s representative as needed to ensure external building and grounds maintenance.
  • Manage HMI Systems strategic purchasing and execute and manage the vendor qualification program for HMI Systems. Maintain vendor documentation and records in cooperation with the Materials Manager.
  • Develop production work packages for each job, i.e. drawings, time studies, process-of-record documentation, testing, and packaging to enhance our current preparation and daily flow of work.
  • Support customer FAI (First Article Inspection) vs PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) process in advance of series production.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA safety requirements.
  • In conjunction with the Chairman of the Safety Committee monitor the company Safety Program and implement measures to ensure the safety of all personnel.
  • Advise Management on capital improvements needed to increase company productivity. Evaluate production equipment purchases/leases and conduct cost/benefit analyses.
  • Manage the supervision of a skilled and semiskilled labor force to meet daily rates of production output ensuring customer delivery dates are met.
  • Devise and implement a maintenance procedure to ensure optimum performance and safety of all production equipment, production cells, and building.
  • Monitor quality, accuracy, and timeliness of all production orders to ensure customer commitments are met through production of high-quality systems, assemblies, and kits that meet customer specifications.
  • In conjunction with Human Resources develop direct reports to increase human capital goals, including devising a training method/plan for continuous skills improvement and required qualifications/certifications.
  • Monitor all production inputs and outputs to ensure they meet the requirements of our certified ISO 9001:2015 compliant Quality Management System.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and record keeping of project-related activities.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Logistics, Finance) to achieve cross-functional goals.



Job Requirements:

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor of Science or equivalent

3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment

Individual must be familiar with IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 certification requirements

Knowledge of the ISO 9001:2015 quality management standard and the Six Sigma quality management methods.

Strong overall drafting skills.


Preferred Skills

  • Metal coatings specification (anodizing, paint types and colors, etc.)
  • Interfacing experience with PDM/PLM systems
  • Electromechanical and basic electronics experience
  • OSHA training
  • SalesForce.com or comparable CRM software
  • MS Office applications
  • Basic understanding of Ohms Law
  • Oracle EBS software or equivalent
  • Control panel construction techniques
