Manager of Wound Care and Hyberbaric Clinic - Austin, TX

Job Summary and Qualifications

  • You will follow and enforce all safety policies (High Risk/Low Volume)
  • You will hire and direct departmental staff in the performance of their duties
  • You will collaborate and identify with other community-based outreach clinics as well as building physician referrals and other health-care entities
  • You will assure that equipment will function according to standards, having repairs or replacements made as necessary
  • You will ensure the appropriate and efficient use of health care dollars that will maximize the probabilities of a positive clinical outcome for the patient.
  • You will consistently look at current processes and procedures and identifies and implements areas of improvement while adhering to HIPAA, regulatory agencies as coordinated through Quality Department.
  • You will coordinate clinical activities including planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing patient are through the use of hospital and nursing standards into the Clinic.
  • Maintains departmental expenses and productivity as budgeted. Oversees outpatient hyperbaric wound care clinic as delivered by the department and the Director of Safety.
  • Responsible for the overall operation of the department. Responsible for orientating, evaluating, and documenting competency of personnel. Establishes, maintains, and revises departmental policies and procedure to include departmental programs, quality control, performance improvement, and safety.
  • You will conduct audits of patient charts, coding and billing for regulatory compliance under the direction of the Medical Director
  • You will collaborate with both the Medical Director and Program Director to provide specific assessments according to protocols and procedures, clinical competence in procedural skills, treatments and patient/caregiver education related to wound care management
  • You will monitor fiscal budget to control operational and capital expenditures while monitoring and adjusting resources to improve productivity and outcomes to be budget neutral. (High Risk/Low Volume)
  • You will identify and recommend items for capital purchase
  • You will provide staff recognition through positive reinforcement and constructive feedback.
  • You will evaluate data to determine the most cost-effective methods and supplies You will address departmental issues to ensure optimal delivery of services
  • You will ensure implementation of operational standards which promote the maintenance of patient care providing mechanisms to monitor and enforce best practices, trends and report data related to skin integrity and wound care outcomes, following infection control standards and practices.
  • You will engage in staff development, providing general in-services as well as individual instruction and orientation.


Qualifications

Education:

Bachelors Degree (RN or PT)


License/ Certification:

Registered Nurse (RN) or Physical Therapist (PT) with Wound Care Certification

Basic Cardiac Life Support

Wound Care Certification (preferred)


Experience:

  • Leadership experience (preferred)
  • 5 years of experience in related area
  • Won't need hyperbaric experience, but WILL NEED WOUND CARE experience - managing pressure injuries


Additional Information:

  • Sits at an inpatient wound care area in the main rehab hospital and outpatient clinic
  • FTE: 12 (mic of RN, hyperbaric techs, wound care PT & office tech)
