Job Purpose

To manage T&D asset field inspections across NY & NE and the Transmission Line Maintenance program management oversight to drive continuous improvement of electric transmission and distribution systems. Ensure inspections are properly entered into a computerized maintenance system (Computapole/GridInspector) and are performed in accordance with all applicable regulations, including company safety, construction, and maintenance policies.

Key Accountabilities


  • Monitor and challenge existing ways of working and continuously seek ways to improve, driving greater efficiency of the transmission, distribution systems.
  • Lead activities to identify systemic operating, process or technological deficiencies within the electric transmission, distribution in Computapole/GridInspector systems.
  • Exercise independent judgment in managing daily operations and resolving issues while remaining accountable for all actions to next-level management.
  • Hold primary responsibility for directing and managing the activities of staff working on electric transmission, distribution and inspection programs within Computapole/GridInspector.
  • Manage a diverse group of employees with concern for staffing, training, professional competence, productivity, and performance appraisal to ensure the department is adequately staffed, operates efficiently and can adapt to changing requirements.
  • Collaborate with regional and cross-regional team members in executing the annual inspection and maintenance plans.
  • Provide technical guidance, support and coaching to others to share knowledge and develop technical understanding of inspectors, supervisors, analysts and project managers.

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing a team, communicating expectations and delegating responsibilities.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience
  • 10 years + experience within electric operations and supervision or engineering in lieu of degree
  • Proficient in data analytics and analyzing distribution/transmission workplans
