024320 Manager, International Tax Planning (Open)
:
This is a dynamic project-based role that will be responsible for coordinating and managing key aspects of the tax positions of Greif’s international subsidiaries. The position will report to the Director International Tax and will work collaboratively with members of the Tax, Finance, Treasury, Legal and other business partners.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare/review international statements required for U.S. corporate tax return
  • Maintain and update excel based tax model for use for provision, tax return and planning purposes.
  • Prepare calculations to analyze arms-length nature of intercompany transactions and assist in the preparation of Transfer Pricing reports to include Master File, Local Country files and Country by Country Reporting
  • Review non-US tax filing positions to determine and analyze risk related to uncertain tax positions and prepare related memos
  • Research and analyze international tax positions and provide written analyses and memos supporting the company’s interpretation of various tax laws
  • Responsible for maintaining documentation and schedules related to intercompany cost charges and work with financial planning and analysis team
  • Represent Tax on committee with Treasury and Corporate Accounting to document legal entity structure changes
  • Assist as needed with quarterly and year-end tax provision
  • Prepare and update tax basis studies
  • Lead or assist on tax planning projects including meeting with tax advisors and modeling impact of proposed transactions
  • Assist as needed with corporate income tax return
  • Assist in the management of all tax authority examinations of worldwide corporate income tax returns
  • Special projects as needed, which may include M&A, due diligence, and legal entity restructuring
  • Tracking impact of non-US transactions and communicating with the U.S. tax compliance team on U.S. International tax compliance and reporting
  • Oversee external valuations
Requirements:
  • Proficient in tax research and writing, with excellent technical and analytical skills
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and international income tax concepts
  • CPA certification preferred
  • 7+ years of Corporate tax experience with US multinational or public accounting firm
  • Able to work independently, but also able to collaborate and execute within a global environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
