The Maintenance Technician position is an excellent opportunity for a new or experienced candidate to learn or refine skills. Candidates with all levels of experience, including those with no experience, are encouraged to apply.

This position offers a wide variety of opportunities to work in areas such as snow plowing, water and sewer distribution systems, concrete, and infrastructure repair and maintenance.

Safety, training, and professional development are a priority at the City of Wyoming. Depending on job assignment employees will work with a wide variety of specialized tools and equipment such as backhoes, salt spreaders with wing plows, hydro-excavators, and dump trucks. The regular work schedule is Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Employees also respond to emergencies and have overtime opportunities. Work is performed in individual or crew settings depending on job assignment.

Employees progressively gain experience, learn to plan and prioritize a diverse workload, and obtain licenses such as a commercial driver's license (CDL) or water distribution license. The city pays for and trains employees to obtain and maintain a CDL, as well as other licenses and certifications. Additionally, the city provides employees with safety boots and shoes, cold-weather gear, and uniforms.

Wages shown are effective on July 1, 2023. Employees are eligible for a pay increase six months after hire.
