Key Responsibilities
- Providing technical support for efficient troubleshooting / problem solving activities and maintenance repair to maximize efficiencies and limit downtime.
- Initiating cost savings measures.
- Ensuring all quality and regulatory standards, specifications and policies are met or exceeded.
- Ensuring all plant maintenance operations are conducted in a safe and controlled environment.
- Effectively communicating results and action plans to appropriate employees and managers.
- Reviewing production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
- Ensuring that all manufacturing / facility systems and utilities are properly resourced and that all resources are efficiently utilized.
- Collaborating directly with human resources to ensure employee issues or concerns are correctly addressed and resolved.
- Scheduling repair, maintenance, and installation to ensure continuous production operations;
- Managing the buildings and grounds such that good manufacturing practices (GMPs) are adhered to and a professional appearance is maintained.
- Driving employee engagement, training, and development to maximize manufacturing, quality, safety, and productivity goal attainment and succession.
- Performing follow-up analysis to identify and resolve recurring downtime / inefficient operational issues.
- Managing the overall maintenance budget for expenses.
- Executing plant-specific vision and mission to assure continuous improvement and alignment with the corporate vision.
- Working with Asset Life Cycle management and planned maintenance
- Providing leadership in implementing / maintaining preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Directing hourly maintenance associates in their roles and responsibilities to meet plant objectives in safety, quality, cost, and customer service.
- Experience with executing and managing KPI’s across the team
- Installing, maintaining, calibrating, and inspecting the automation control and communications systems (PLC’s).
- Eliminating causes of failure and ensuring full useful equipment life in coordination with daily maintenance completed by operating personnel.
- Ensuring environmental compliance.
- Continuously applying sound mechanical and electrical solutions to resolve obstacles to plant efficiencies and to drive continuous improvement.
- Scheduling mandatory inspections and coordinating certifications and appropriate authorities.
- Supporting the Maintenance Buyer in adhering to the maintenance and stores budgets.
- Inspecting machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
- Troubleshooting plant equipment including evaporators, pasteurizers, an ultrafilter, a microfilter, plate and frame filter presses and a spray dryer.
- Food or Pharmaceutical industry knowledge preferred, 5+ years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 5+ years Supervisory / Management experience.
- Experience implementing predictive/preventive maintenance programs.
- Strong computer application skills, network and PC business application software
- Project Engineering skills a plus.
- Familiarity with sanitary design standards, 3A or the PMO a plus.
- A degree in Mechanical Technology or Engineering or other technical discipline from an accredited institution is preferred, or equivalent training and experience.
