Job Description

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations and ensuring the smooth functioning of equipment and facilities used in the production and packaging of cosmetic products. This role involves managing a team of maintenance technicians, implementing maintenance schedules, coordinating repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Management:

  • Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively to ensure efficient maintenance operations.

2. Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment, machinery, and facilities.
  • Coordinate with production and operations teams to schedule maintenance activities that minimize production disruptions.

3. Equipment Inspection and Repair:

  • Regularly inspect production equipment, packaging machinery, and facility infrastructure to identify potential issues and ensure proper functioning.
  • Coordinate and perform repairs, adjustments, and replacements as necessary to maintain optimal operational performance.

4. Troubleshooting:

  • Analyze equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and develop solutions to address technical issues promptly
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex problems affecting production efficiency.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Generate reports on maintenance performance, equipment downtime, and related metrics.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history.

6. Safety and Compliance:

  • Stay updated with industry best practices, regulations, and advancements to implement relevant changes in maintenance procedures.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and quality standards, promoting a culture of workplace safety.

7. Spare Parts Management:

  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of critical spare parts.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies required for maintenance tasks.

8. Training and Development:

  • Provide training to maintenance technicians to enhance their skills, knowledge, and proficiency in equipment maintenance.

9. Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements within the maintenance department.
  • Collaborate with other departments to implement changes that enhance overall production performance.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proficiency in computer systems and maintenance management software is a plus.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair techniques with integrated systems.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant technical field (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, etc.).
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills for managing a diverse maintenance team.
  • Strong technical knowledge of production equipment and machinery used in cosmetics manufacturing and packaging.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with cross-functional teams and reporting.
  • Proven experience (typically 3-5 years) in maintenance supervision, preferably within the cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, or consumer goods industries.
