CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

This position directs the maintenance operations at our PSP facility to achieve maximum production potential, at the lowest cost, while focusing on preservation of asset value. Responsible for managing the maintenance, service, and repairs for the entire paint line and all support equipment (i.e. pumps, conveyors, burners, ovens, PLC, HMI, spraying systems, robots, AMU, etc.). Also, this position is responsible for providing direction and suppot to the maintenance team, eAM Management, including entering and removing assets, updating and adding- SMP’s, Checklists, Asset BOM’s, and associated matrix level compliance.

Major Tasks Performed:

  • Develop budgets and cost controls.
  • Maintains maintenance records to track effectiveness of maintenance program.
  • Support the site goal of VPP attainment through implementing the elements of SMART.
  • Coordinate purchasing of supplies and equipment services for the Maintenance Department.
  • Train and develop skill levels of maintenance staff.
  • Plan and direct the supervision of the team members and activities of the Maintenance Department to ensure prompt and accurate response to equipment and paint department maintenance needs.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews.
  • Promote safety through active participation and support of company safety policies and programs and initiating corrective action for recognized unsafe conditions or hazards and encouraging employee involvement in all Safety initiatives.
  • Maintains leadership and discipline within the department.
  • Review and analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of production problems using eAM data.
  • Monitor equipment downtime through eAM.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Ensures compliance with safety and environmental requirements with respect to regulated equipment and mandatory inspections.
  • All production equipment operates at peak performance.
  • Maintains a Safe working environment.
  • Minimizes downtime due to unscheduled repairs.
  • Ensure fully trained and capable Maintenance staff and maintains a positive work enviornment.
  • Maintains eAM work orders & develop and execute a succesful PM program.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

FORMAL EDUCATION: (GENERALLY, IF RELEVANT EXPERIENCE IS ACCEPTABLE, THE CANDIDATE MUST HAVE THREE YEARS OF WORK EXPERIENCE FOR EVERY ONE YEAR OF COLLEGE EDUCATION REQUIRED)

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years of equivalent experience

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical/engineering discipline
  • Previous plant maintenance supervisor/manager experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • Strong troubleshooting background and knowledge and understanding of all associated disciplines including: Electrical Controls and PLC/relay logic, pneumatics, and paint application equipment.
  • Must have the ability to lift 25 -50lbs frequently and 50-100lbs occasionally with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Experience managing engineering/maintenance projects in an industrial environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.

  • Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis.
  • Some travel to other locations, meetings and/or seminars is required.
  • Work surfaces may include concrete.
  • May work indoors and outdoors as needed. Exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 0 degrees.
  • Must be able to climb and descend stairs.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to _50-100_ pounds.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.
  • May work in areas where toxic, flammable, and hazardous materials are present.
  • Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis.
  • May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt.
  • May work in areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is required.

TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

  • Must remain organized and be capable of prioritizing daily demands, along with accomplishing long-term Maintenance objectives.
  • Daily work requisites, supervision of activities of the maintenance department, maximum efficiency of equipment, reduction/ elimination down time.
  • This position is responsible for generating savings through resourcing lowest cost, soliciting new ideas to increase productivity of Maintenance Technicians, and to reduce downtime via developing and implementing a preventive maintenance program.

  • Proven track record for training others
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving experience within paint systems
  • Experience designing, installing and operating paint application equipment including (but not limited to) pre-treat systems, automated robotic and bell applicators.
