Job Description
  • Coordinate and address equipment failure in a timely manner, in order to minimize the downtime.
  • Coordinate parts requirement with Parts Coordinator.
  • Ensure all upgrades for equipment are complaints with Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Check mail folder in Parts Room for any pertinent messages.
  • Plans and performs complex corrective and preventative maintenance requiring a thorough knowledge of mechanical theories and principles.
  • Contributes to measurable improvements in scheduled, unscheduled and break down maintenance related down time and the costs associated with these events to contribute to CPC (cost per case) goals for each plant and shares best practices across and within the enterprise.
  • Responsible to adhere to food quality and food safety as per quality standards and/or Safe Quality Food requirements.
  • Assist in training of Electricians/Mechanics on production equipment and maintain Lockout/Tag out Program.
  • Support Electricians and Mechanics with machine issues on the production floor.
  • Coordinate and monitor Preventative Maintenance program.
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas (including but not limited to hairnets/beard nets, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe boots and seatbelts while operating forklifts)
  • Execute the escalation process, if downtime exceeds plant targets and there is an issue solving the problem.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects, and support initiatives with technical expertise.
  • Review any changes made to production line and make necessary changes to work orders.
  • Minimize down time ensuring replacement/spare parts are available through proper preventative maintenance management by adhering to manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Assist in scheduling maintenance personnel to cover production line maintenance needs.
  • Review daily preventative maintenance (PM) sheets and schedule work accordingly.
