Job Description
The successful candidate will lead the technical design, development, integration, testing, installation, documentation, and maintenance of highly complex business applications. In addition, the incumbent will develop solutions to highly complex business and technical problems, and also coach technical staff regarding software development and tools.
  • Strong system design, software engineering, problem solving, analytical and research skills.
  • Works under general supervision; typically reports to a project leader or manager.
  • Performs a variety of tasks.
  • Knowledge of programming languages.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installing for a large-scale mainframe computer system.
  • In-depth knowledge of the software development life cycle including systems design, database systems, networking, operating systems, programming techniques, and technical documentation.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Works with project members to develop specifications, diagrams and flowcharts.
  • Develops and implements a disaster recovery plan.
  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience required.
  • Extensive experience in technical applications and/or information systems, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Mainframe development (i.e., Z/OS operating system, COBOL, or Natural).
  • Maintains and develops on-line and batch application programs.
