Flux Marine is a high-growth marine technology start-up that is designing electric outboard motors from the ground up without using legacy combustion engine parts. This allows our motors to maximize efficiency and minimize maintenance without compromising performance vs gas engines. Our technology has many applications including commercial, recreational, yacht tender, and defense markets.

Job Overview

Flux Marine is seeking a skilled and motivated CNC machinist and fabricator to support the growing fabrication needs of the company. In this agile role, you will be responsible for completing in-house machining operations, aluminum part welding, and assisting with product assembly. You will work alongside the engineering team to ensure the highest quality product is delivered to the customer. As a part of this role, you will have visibility into the other projects in development at the company and will regularly engage with the executives and founders on the progress of your work.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Aid engineers with completing engineering drawings to a professional standard
  • Abide by and work to improve safe operating procedures
  • Work with test engineers to design and fabricate test rigs to validate designs
  • Support design engineers to rapidly iterate and test new designs
  • Operate CNC and manual milling machines
  • Perform scheduled maintenance as required on CNC and milling machines
  • Complete weldments as needed on aluminum parts
  • Inspect incoming parts and rework as needed

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience with lean manufacturing is a plus
  • Strong understanding of GD&T
  • Working knowledge of CAD/CAM
  • Strong welding experience in aluminum and steel
  • 2+ years’ experience operating CNC and milling machines in an independent environment
