Job Description

The Extrusion Operator is responsible for activities to include operating the Extrusion machine that heats, forms, and molds raw materials into plastic sheets. They will set up the machine to specifications, perform quality inspections, performing regular, preventive, tank and other equipment maintenance, document performance metrics on the technical board, and report out. The Extrusion Operator owns and is accountable for the process.

Work schedule for this role is 3p-11p, weekend overtime is required.

Pay range for this role starts at $18.00 per hour + $1.00 per hour shift premium.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (including but not limited to)

  • Perform regular and preventive machine maintenance
  • Work safely while performing job duties
  • Set up machine to job specification sheet for selections to temperature, speed, and dimensions
  • Start up and shut down machine
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Perform in process inspections and make quality decisions

Education and Experience/Skills:

  • High School graduate or GED preferred
  • Previous experience in a production environment
  • Ability to interpret reports & analyze data
  • Gain powered industrial truck (forklift) certification within 3 business days


Must be able to:

  • Climb ladders and stairs, walk on narrow and elevated platforms
  • Lift, push and pull weights of up to 25lbs frequently and up to 38lbs.occasionally
  • Work independently, make decisions, communicate with others
  • Lift, bend and reach, including below waist level and above shoulder level
  • Work with a high degree of accuracy and with attention to detail
  • Use vision to read labels and inventory sheets
  • Use hands to manipulate parts and machine controls
