Our team is seeking a full-timeLogistics Support Specialistfocused onForeign Military Sales, specifically with Australia, to help enable effective solutions and take the initiative when problem-solving. This role is located at theNavy Supply – Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP-WSS) office in Philadelphia, PAand may support some remote work. This role will start no later than Jan 2023.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide inventory management support and tasks including but not limited to price and availability investigations; the processing of routine and high-priority spare demands; requisition input (including PROS); modifications and cancellations; exception list; requisition expedites and submission of supply assistance requests; identification of alternate supply sources or solutions; analysis of concerning trends in materiel availability through the US Navy.
  • Assist the AT USNSLO with repair management (both RoR and RIRO), technical data requests, carcass freighting/tracking and investigations (including requirements to ensure carcass charges are avoided or reversed), raise RIRO documentation and perform other FMS logistics support activities as directed.
  • Travel – Domestic travel may be required and not to exceed 10% of the time.
  • Maintain accurate Bench Level Instructions annually required for performing duties.
  • Assist the Freight Forwarder and Australian Embassy to resolve issues. Action shipping priority changes as directed by Australian SPOs, actively track freight where required.
  • Assist with training incoming RAAF Staff when posted to NAVSUP RAAF SLO office and follow up with gap training as required by the AT USNSLO2.
  • Raise and submit Supply Discrepancy Reports (SDR) and Transport Discrepancy Reports (TDR) as directed. Assist the Australian SOFMS office in managing NAVSUP SDRs. Monitor the progression of discrepancy reports and ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain subject matter expertise on FMS logistics information systems (IT) and provide training to AT USNSLO as required. Recommend resolution or mitigation of FMS IT impacts on the Australian customer.
  • Liaison with various Navy and DoD organizations, as necessary, regarding logistics support and operational requirements of Australian Defence Force (ADF) agencies that have procured material through the U.S Navy FMS Program.

Qualifications:

  • 10 years of broad professional experience in Defense logistics.
  • Minimum 4 years of specialized expertise in Foreign Military Sales Supply Chains.
  • Highly proficient in Security Cooperation Information Portal (SCIP) and Management Information System International Logistics (MILSIL).
  • Ability to draft reports and executive summaries highlighting key findings and gaps.
