Job Description
Summary About the Position: Serves as a Logistics Management Specialists within the Brigade Support Operations, responsible for planning, developing, coordinating and integrating supply functions for organizations within the Army Field Support Brigade (AFSB) footprint. This is a deployable Department of the Army Civilian position. Responsibilities Reviews and evaluates logistics doctrine, policy, plans, procedures, operations, support systems and recommends improvements. Performs planning for AFSBn/Logistic Readiness Centers (LRC) within assigned area of support through analyzing mission assignments, establishing program objectives and developing current/long-range plans for accomplishment of assigned functions. Provides guidance and oversight on supply chain programs such as Retail Supply, Stock Readiness, Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT), Fuel Operations, and Laundry/Dry Cleaning. Responsible for integrating, coordinating and executing critical supply actions in regard to unit readiness and effectiveness. Operate automation systems such as Global Combat Service Support-Army (GCSS-A) to provide guidance and assistance to assigned Army Field Support Battalion?s (AFSBn) and Logistic Readiness Centers (LRC). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) providing logistical supply chain program oversight to determine necessary actions needed for administrative and operational functions; and 2) analyzing mission assignments, establishing program objectives and developing current and long-range plans for supporting logistical operations; and 3) ensuring compliance with logistical policies, plans, programs, and procedures to meet mission goals. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Knowledge Management Manages and Organizes Information Planning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
