Summary About the Position: This position is located at the Logistics Readiness Center at Fort Leonard Wood. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, Missouri. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2 hour drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is a little more than an hour's drive to the West of Fort Leonard Wood. Responsibilities This position serves as the Logistics Readiness Center Director, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Directs all maintenance, supply, ammunition, food service, laundry, and transportation. This position may include directing air and rail, as well as the installation?s power projection platform, property accountability, clothing, deployment, redeployment, and other related logistical activities. Set policy for organizations managed. Manage, supervise, and coordinate all logistical activities for a complex installation. Interpret objectives and guidance received from Army Sustainment Command headquarters and Army Field Support Brigade relating to logistical operations. Place emphasis on implementing and administering regulations governing the safeguarding of classified information. Direct the fiscal management of organizational logistics operations. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) directing policy, program planning and program execution for the logistical activities of a complex organization; 2) directing maintenance, supply, ammunition, food service, laundry, mobilization and transportation activities of an organization; 3) developing and governing logistical procedures and policies to govern logistical operations; 4) managing and directing an operating budget; and 5) executing administrative and personnel management responsibilities, such as developing performance standards, identifying training needs, filling vacancies, and resolving informal complaints/grievances. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Financial Management Manpower & Personnel Planning and Evaluating Strategic Thinking Technical Credibility Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14). Applicants must meet the time in grade restrictions within thirty (30) days of the closing date of the announcement. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
