Job Description

SUMMARY:

Provides a variety of servicing support functions while providing quality member service in connection with consumer, mortgage, credit card and business loans which includes account adjustments and corrections, resolving member disputes, loan record management, final closing and releases of paid loans, insurance tracking and force placements. Have a high level of understanding of the credit union’s loan related products and its accompanying documents. Expands Coast360’s market share via soliciting new lending and deposit relationships.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following job functions. Other job functions may be assigned from time to time. The job functions contained herein are intended to be supplemented by “Task Lists” which describe various individual tasks associated with each job function.

  • Orders appraisal reports with approved appraisal companies thru email.
  • Prepares member’s request for verifications/certifications of credit for approval of Loan Servicing Supervisor or Loan Servicing Manager.
  • Processes credit cards and consumer loans record changes with supporting documentation.
  • Processes requests for credit card balance transfers, closures, add-ons and deletions.
  • Prepares credit card and consumer loan maintenance and adjustments to include interest, principal and fee payment applications subject to the approval of Loan Servicing Supervisor or Loan Servicing Manager.
  • Performs loan file custodian duties inclusive of filing of loan documents, dual custody file retrieval/returns and maintains all loan files.
  • Tracks/Monitors Automobile Dealer Letters of Guaranty for timely check exchange for Certificate of Ownership and recorded Security Agreement and verifies collateral documents.
  • Scanning, filing and archiving of all closed mortgage and business loans.
  • Processes new credit cards and consumer loans utilizing a tracking system for accountability, review and follow-up with originating member centers/department to clear exception findings.
  • Set up new member business loans on core system and funds lines of credit.
  • Provides assistance and processes internal/external credit card and consumer loan related service inquiries and requests via email, telephone, fax, online banking secured messages and walk-ins.
  • Complies with procedures, policies and regulation guidelines on consumer, mortgage, credit card and business loans ensuring complete compliance.
  • Performs consumer record changes and prepares documents for loan modifications.
  • Provides support to Loan Servicing Officer.
  • Processes consumer loan adjustments using the recast system.
  • Processes credit card replacement requests and send to RSD for card creation. Review and clear exceptions on the card order exception report on a daily basis.
  • Scans new and closed loans and all other related documents utilizing the document imaging system.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.
  • Prints daily batched reports for file maintenance review.
  • Orders consumer loan coupon booklets.
  • Coordinates the mass mailing of the annual 1098 Mortgage Interest Statements and Escrow Analysis.
  • Service members and cross-sell credit union’s products and services.
  • Conducts daily loan purging, collateral releases, filing and archiving of all closed consumer loans.
  • Maintains a basic understanding of other functional areas of the Coast360 in order to better service loan members.
  • Processes automatic transfers and loan modifications for consumer loans, mortgage and business loans.

Thorough knowledge of servicing/maintenance of loan files, insurance, and federal regulations. Performs all job functions in an accurate and timely manner. Detail oriented. Utilizes interpersonal skills effectively in a team environment. Displays professional attitude and appearance at all times.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) is required; plus three months of related experience and/or training; or any equivalent combination of formal training and/or experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities thereof.


LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.


REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems, apply commonsense understanding and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Current Driver’s License


OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Ability to operate standard office equipment and tools such as postage machine, fax machine, telephones, photocopier, typewriter, and utilize appropriate versions of current computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
