Job Summary:


If you have a few years of Linux experience and enjoy administering application servers or have DevOps experience with container and/or cloud technologies, this opportunity will challenge you. The team supports a wide variety of Linux based enterprise platforms hosting patient care and business operations applications. The position is remote with occasional work from the Nashville office.


Required skills:


  • Experience with Unix/Linux.
  • Development and/or scripting experience with Python and/or bash.
  • Experience administering enterprise Linux applications.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.


Desired skills (one or more):


  • Experience with Kubernetes container management platforms such as Openshift.
  • Experience administering cloud PaaS and IaaS services, especially in Azure.
  • Experience administering Splunk.
  • Experience administering the Stonebranch workload automation platform.
  • Experience working in a DevOps environment.
  • Experience administering the Tibco or HealthShare integration and messaging platforms.
  • Experience administering RStudio data science platform.

Job Summary


Plans and administers installation and configuration of the application servers under occasional guidance. Provides support for system performance, security and reliability. Facilitates deployments and operational support for all applications. Implements small projects or components or large projects. Ability to solve medium to complex problems.


Key Responsibilities


  • Installs, maintains and administers application server environments.
  • Performs application deployments to test integration and production environments.

Technical Capabilities


  • Server Installation and Upgrade (Novice): Has the ability to install software on a specific platform. Demonstrates an ability to resolve problems that may occur during the installation of software. Is capable of understanding the design and purpose of the software being installed.
  • Server Security (Novice): Has detailed knowledge of the functionality of security systems and understands how they work and interface with data, applications and systems. Able to explain and document the functionality of security requirements and how they relate to the business and an information security program.
  • Server Administration (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of the skill in practical applications of a difficult nature. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering products and services using the skill without requiring support and instruction from others. Able to train and educate by setting the example, giving technical instruction, providing leadership, and generally raising the level of performance of others while on the job.
  • Server Monitoring and Tuning (Intermediate): Demonstrates knowledge of what metrics are available, understands their meaning, and can produce sophisticated reports. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering products and services using the skill without requiring support and instruction from others. Able to direct associates of lower proficiencies on where to find data. Performs statistical analysis with performance tuning data.
