Linehaul Deckhand - No Diploma Or Ged Required!

Are you ready to navigate your way toward a new career? Ingram Barge Company is looking to bring both entry level and experienced deckhands onboard.
You may be assigned to any river segment or vessel type based upon Company needs at time of your hire. As an Ingram associate, you will be reliable for your own transportation to and from your hitches.
What you’ll be doing:

• Practice safe crew, vessel and tow operation using Ingram safety systems
• Assist deck crew in tow building (laying wires, tighten ratchets, sweep and shovel barges)
• Carry rigging (ratchets, wires and straps) pumps, hoses and lines
• Assist with locking
• Daily vessel housekeeping (sweeping, mopping and cleaning crew living quarters)
• Check barges for water and leaks – which at times requires climbing into confined spaces
• Participate in safety drills and audits
• Work outdoors for extended periods of time in weather conditions such as heat/cold & rain/snow
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
• Assist the Engineer as requested
• Upkeep of vessel appearance includes sooging (washing), chipping and painting

This positon is a Deckhand position that would potentially have you working anywhere from St. Paul, MN to Baton Rouge, LA. Our marine hub is located in Paducah, KY and most crew changes do happen here. All new hires will also travel to Paducah for the Orientation Training.
