What does this role look like?
You will be responsible for driving a commercial tanker vehicle on designated routes to load and/or unload fuel safely and in a timely manner.

Some of your main responsibilities will be:
  • Drive a commercial motor vehicle which requires a Class A Commercial Driver’s License and a Hazardous Materials endorsement.
  • Transport fuel in a timely and safe manner from load racks to retail and customer sites.
  • Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicles at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather and in or out of tight areas.
  • Inspect truck for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips. Submit record of duty status (HOS), via ELD mileage records and other records per DOT requirements.

SIGN-ON-BONUS

New Drivers will receive a sign-on bonus of $3,500.


Qualifications


Must-haves:

  • Must have a current medical card.
  • Minimum of two years of experience operating tractor-trailer equipment
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC card.
  • Class A CDL with the following endorsements: X (Tanker and Hazmat) and Doubles or Triples
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) or experience in lieu of education
  • Must meet current driver qualifications as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations


Nice-to haves:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Word
  • One year of experience operating with long combination vehicles
  • Experience delivering fuel


What an average day looks like:

  • Safety meeting, check retain amounts and make a plan for scheduled deliveries, complete accurate Pre-trip DVIR and other paperwork
  • Navigating uneven work surfaces to tank locations, conducting safe fill procedures, documenting fuel delivery accurately and communicating back with dispatch any and all relevant information.
  • Complete post trip and turn in accurate delivery documentation. Follow all safety procedures with regards to operating a fuel truck and fueling deliveries.
  • Safely and efficiently make deliveries throughout the day to various locations
  • Refuel truck at fueling rack, following all safety procedures.
  • Driving to various locations to deliver product per dispatch instructions, contact with customers should always be respectful and courteous.

Working Conditions
  • May require extended use of computer keyboard, viewing of computer monitor and ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to crouch and stoop to get into areas with restricted headroom and be able to climb ladders.
  • May be exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially dangerous equipment.

FLSA Status
The position is Non-Exempt. May require the ability to work overtime to meet required deadlines. Must comply with all work rules, including those that pertain to safety and health.
