Job Summary:

LPN must hold a current/unencumbered nursing license in the state of Georgia.Nurse must be highly motivated, energetic, and hard working.Must enjoy working with children and their families.Must be a team player.LPN must have excellent communication skills.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Plans and manages pediatric patient care within the outpatient clinical setting. Interviews patients/parents and records medical history and physical condition.Obtains patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, respirations, and oxygen saturation.Triages patients appropriately based on their clinical status/medical condition. LPN should be able to use critical thinking skills and training in order to triage patients and notify providers of patients who need immediate care.Assists Physician and Nurse Practitioner with procedures as needed.Administers vaccinations and documents appropriately as ordered.Collects labs and specimens to be run in the office as well as prepare for courier.Administers medications by numerous routes including oral, IM, SQ.Assists with patient’s needs, care, and comfort.Answers questions of patients/parents both in the office and over the phone within the LPN’s scope of practice.Basic computer knowledge and ability to document patient’s medications and treatment in a timely manner in an electronic medical record is required. The LPN works well with other nurses and staff members as a team player in order to provide excellent patient care.LPN will also be in charge of the ordering, counting, management, and inventory of vaccinations within the office.LPN may be asked to help with management, inventory, and ordering of office and medical supplies.LPN may be asked to assist with other clinical duties such as patient referrals or prior authorizations.


Job Requirements and Qualifications:

Completion of state approved nursing training program

Current unencumbered LPN license in the state of Georgia

BLS Certification

Preferred Pediatric Experience

Preferred 2 years Nursing Experience

Preferred knowledge of GRITS system

Preferred experience with electronic medical systems

Spanish speaking is a plus

PALS certification is a plus


Essential Functions

Physical requirements of bending, lifting, walking, reaching, sitting.

May be required to lift moderate weight (25-50 pounds).

May require long periods of standing or sitting.

May be required to assist in holding patients and assist them in cooperating in order to obtain vital signs, labs, testing, etc.

Frequent use of visual abilities including near or far vision, ability to adjust and focus on computer screens.


Telecommute:

This job is not eligible for Telecommute.It requires physical attendance at Tiftarea Pediatrics.
