Job Responsibilities

Manages the evening/late night operations of the Circulation department. Participates in the development of the departmental master schedule. Ensures that the department is fully staffed by overseeing student hires and scheduling. Coordinates with shift and student supervisors to fill the daily shift assignments with special attention to the collection maintenance needs of the department. Selects, trains, supervises, and evaluates the performance of select library staff. Plans, develops, and recommends library policy changes. Provides general instruction and support in the promotion of the library resources and services. Provides support and back up to the Head of Circulation and Visitor Service.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

Master’s degree from ALA accredited program; or Masters Degree in related field; or Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Library experience in access services

Availability to supervise the work of others, maintain a high level of accuracy and perform detailed work. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, work effectively in a team environment, and work independently. Ability to demonstrate initiative and select the best method of accomplishing work. Knowledge of modern library services and organization. Basic computer skills.
