Research and teaching about Asian & Middle Eastern languages & cultures.

Position Summary
The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill invites applications for a Korean language instructor for the fall 2023 semester. We are seeking a skilled language instructor with a commitment to a proficiency-based approach to language teaching. This instructor will teach one section of elementary Korean. Classes meet MTWR for 50 minutes. Other responsibilities will include holding office hours, organizing cultural enrichment activities, and participating in program development. The pay is $8000 per course section. This is a temporary position that carries no benefits.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
MA, preferably in Korean language pedagogy or related field.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Must be fluent in Korean & English. Experience teaching Korean as a second language at the university level, particularly in the US., is preferred.
