Brief
The Art and Design Department at SUNY Buffalo State is seeking a full-time Lecturer in the area of 2D/3D Digital Art and Design Foundation with an intellectually and technically sophisticated curiosity-driven approach to digital 2D/3D Art and Design that translates into curricular leadership in digital technologies, visionary program development of attractive career-oriented degree paths, and excellence in teaching. In addition to teaching, the candidate will coordinate the department’s digital fabrication lab.

Required Qualifications

Required qualifications include a BFA in Art, Design, Product Design, Architecture, Interior Design or a related field. Ability to teach digital 2D/3D art & design courses with an extensive digital fabrication component; expertise in 3D Computer Modeling, specifically Rhino CAD, Adobe CC, Digital Visualization, and Presentation Methods; as well as a record of creative activity in digital 3D design and fabrication and/or scholarship, and the potential for the continuation of such work.

Preferred Qualifications
A Ph.D. or a M.F.A. in Art, Design, Product Design, Architecture, Interior Design or a related field, college-level teaching experience; an ability to teach digital fabrication courses in parametric design, with a strong focus on creative problem solving and aesthetics; and an extensive exhibition record of creative activity in digital 3D design and fabrication.
