The Lease Operator is responsible for the overall daily operation and maintenance for a specified group of oil and gas wells. Lease Operator must be able to work independently, working with a wide array of oil and gas well types and equipment. Lease Operator must have a strong safety ethic, be able to communicate to roustabouts, truck drivers, other operators, engineers, and any other office-based people.


Operator must be able to problem solve, work with non-automated wells, identify issues in the field and communicate all work being done to the whole team. Performs a wide variety of tasks; contributes to process improvements. Have thorough working knowledge to determine the best approach to situations that will achieve desired outcomes.


Responsibilties


  • Perform inspections to adhere to company policies
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with government officials, landowners, and third-party contractors
  • Perform routine repairs. Communicate corrective maintenance needs if unable to complete
  • Diagnose and resolve production related issues, consulting with the Production Engineer as needed
  • Maintain lease site with general upkeep and maintenance (fences, signs, weeds, trash, etc.)
  • Adhere to all EHS policies, understand our living Safety Manual and Response plans and respond quickly and effectively if needed.
  • Keep and maintain all oil seal records, including filing, and noting where ticket corrections may be needed
  • Perform operational checks of assigned wells, equipment, and facilities. Identify and report changes in individual well performance
  • Measure and record oil production. Ensure accuracy of run tickets
  • Assist monitoring and minimizing LOE costs
  • Oversee roustabout crews, any other small crews working on location
  • Coordinate oil sales and water disposal
Skills and Qualifications


  • Basic math skills
  • Experience working as part of a team
  • Must have working knowledge of plunger lift, rod pump wells, flowing wells, and gas lift compression
  • Strong work ethic - must be able to adjust working hours on a daily basis to make sure things are left in a safe manner
  • A clean driving record is a must. Operator will be using a company truck to drive to the field in a safe manor, while observing all posted speed limit and other driving signage
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills (written and oral) with peers and managers
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Minimum 5 years industry related experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree preferred

During each fiscal year of employment, employees will be eligible to earn a discretionary annual incentive bonus, based on company and individual performance targets.
