This position is a hybrid role (2 days per week) and can be located in Stamford, CT, New York, Baltimore, Short Hills NJ, Ft Lauderdale and St Petersburg FL.

Lead System Analyst

Leads the design of new technology solutions to improve business efficiency and productivity. Ensures alignment with enterprise architecture strategies. Partners with multiple application development and testing services teams. Works on large-scale, high impact, and complex initiatives. Initiatives generally involve multiple business divisions or are enterprise wide. Partners with senior business leaders in program-level strategy development and execution.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Lead System Analyst?

Technical Design

  • Partners with senior leaders to identify strategy for streamlining application work processes; drives design interfaces, features, and new technologies, leveraging prior system design knowledge to predict potential impacts; drives assessment of technical and non-technical implications.
  • Drives roadmap discussions and technological solutions to deliver business outcomes that align systems/applications with technology strategies.
  • Partners with senior leaders on program-level strategy development and execution.
  • Identifies opportunities for creating reusable enterprise artifacts.
  • Guides others to leverage technology strategies to iterate prototypes and implement high-value solutions with business and technology partners.
  • Drives solutions options and business partner decision-making to minimize the amount of project investment divergence from target outcomes.
  • Implements solutions enterprise-wide; proactively identifies hurdles to achieving system benefits and identifies alternative solutions to a business need.
  • Defines and implements innovative approaches and solutions that require transformation changes within and across the enterprise.

Technical Support & Service

  • Defines metrics and establishes process for analyzing cross-organizational statistics to identify trends.
  • Leads the design of application architecture for core applications.
  • Drives design of data model, leveraging prior system design knowledge to predict potential impacts.
  • Guides and coaches others in providing technical support and service; leads technical support teams when critical issues occur; may act as a point of escalation for other team members when providing technical support.
  • Guides various technology teams to manage and support applications.
  • Consults on conversion and retirement of core systems.
  • Leads improvement opportunity initiatives to streamline the existing application.
  • Negotiates with stakeholders to align on shared objectives and desired business outcomes.
  • Collaborates with business and technology partners to address the immediate business needs based on technical solution complexity.

Planning & Communication

  • Guides others on application changes, schedules, meetings, and any other related activities
  • Implements enterprise- or industry-specific best practices or lessons learned that impact the organization; may share them with the project professional community.
  • May engage communities of practices and project community forums to identify industry-related opportunities to improve existing systems or applications; supports the execution of ongoing efforts to improve project delivery.
  • Advises others in testing efforts.
  • Guides and drives the implementation of changes to existing applications with impacted stakeholders.

Team Leadership

  • Fosters a collaborative environment for distributed or virtual teams.
  • Provides guidance and leadership to teams to enhance and reinforce collective capabilities.
  • Drives team performance, coaches teams, and resolves or escalates team performance issues, as appropriate.
  • Coaches, mentors, and trains other system analysts.
  • Motivates and inspires teams to coalesce and commit to shared purpose.

What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?

  • Position located in Stamford, CT and is hybrid-two days per week in the office.
  • Familiarity with bitbucket / github / aws and Jenkins
  • Working knowledge of relational databases like postgres , MySQL etc.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on development experience in UI technologies particularly React JS / Next JS/ NPM / JavaScript libraries

Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $128,100 - $150,800
