Job Summary
The Lead Service Line Coordinator reports to the Manager, GIS and is responsible for leadership and/or support roles in all aspects of lead service line program including inventory, investigations, replacements, communication, design, bidding, and construction oversight for Aquarion’s facilities in CT, MA and NH.
Principal Responsibilities
  • Works with the various departments within the Company to evaluate issues using GIS and other tools to develop solutions.
  • Prepare plans, specifications, and bidding documents for service line inventory and lead service line replacement projects.
  • Adheres to and enforces Company safety plan.
  • Coordinates project progress with internal/external customers and reports progress in conformance with Company goals and key performance indicators. Works within the Engineering and Planning Team to effectively plan and execute the Business Plan, which may include other responsibilities and work not specifically noted above.
  • Participate in and coordinate projects with other departments utilizing SAP notifications, work orders or other defined processes.
  • Estimate project costs; prepare project budgets and monitor compliance with project budgets. Assists in preparing annual filings and inventory summaries.
  • Prepare communications plans for projects.
  • Resolve customer issues related to construction
  • Recommend changes to standard specifications, drawings and details; manage, prepare, track and report on project schedules, costs, contractor performance.
  • Prepares budgets, project plans and critical path schedules for capital improvement projects.
  • Negotiate paving requirements with state and local officials. Obtain permits from DEP (if needed). Ensure all street opening permits and DOT permits are in place before work begins.
  • Process and sign-off on contractor invoices and oversee preparation of as-builts or other documentation as required by the project.
  • Work to ensure that projects are being completed on-time and within budget.
  • Evaluates alternative solutions and uses GIS and other tools to address infrastructure deficiencies, and recommends solutions with respect to cost, constructability, schedule, impacts, and solutions.
  • Work to develop plans and priorities to improve the service line inventory through review of records and field investigations.
Preferred Requirements
  • PC experience including use of spreadsheets, word processing, email and graphics required.
  • 0 to 5 years of experience required for the position.
  • Experience using GIS as a tool to evaluate infrastructure and identify project needs.

  • Project planning and construction can be variable and complex.
  • Must display and evidence an ability to work as an integral part of a team of peers, superiors and subordinates on professional or non-professional levels.
Accountability
  • Responsible for controlling annual expenditures within established budgets for assigned projects.
  • Signing authority as determined by the Company.
  • Responsible for controlling schedules of multiple, simultaneous, projects to meet operating and financial requirements.
  • Reports directly to the Manager, GIS
Education/Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or related field required.
Salary
Job is classified as an exempt position with an annual salary range of $84,880 to $106,100. After 3 months of successful employment, a hybrid option is available (3 days in the office/2 days remote)
