Purpose

The Direct Air Capture (DAC) Commissioning & Start-Up Specialist will provide site-based services and remote advisory to various clients involved with DAC pilot and commercial facilities. The Specialist will use their 15+ years of experience at multiple facilities in water operations, power engineering or production operations to deliver positive outcomes for Worley and our clients.

NB - this role is initially an on-site rotation in Squamish, BC with transport available from major airports in BC and AB. 7/7 or 14/14 rotation available.

Responsibilities

  • Understands Worley’s Management and Knowledge System and Asset Advisory services
  • Develops and supports start-up/commissioning safety plans and procedures, assures conformance to company guidelines and practices
  • Acts as conduit to deliver activities, procedures and strategies to clients in alignment with the Worley Management and Knowledge system and Asset Advisory Subject Matter Experts.
  • Review and create Worley and client procedures and strategies
  • Work with Commissioning and Start-Up teams as an embedded team member or in consultation on commercial facilities
  • Assist client staff with equipment operation, maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Provides safety leadership by demonstrating high quality task planning, work permitting, control of hazardous energy and field level hazard assessment
  • Works a variety of schedules onsite at client facilities and remotely to enhance client’s asset management performance with particular focus on the following: o Safety o Production o Maintenance o Reliability o Operational Readiness o Brownfield project management process (Management of Change) o Cost optimization
  • Relay experience to client staff through formal and informal training
  • Identifies client goals, needs, and expectations for facility asset management

Technical and Industry Experience

  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders including engineering, maintenance, construction and regulatory
  • 8-15 years of onsite experience at multiple industrial facilities such as upstream oil and gas processing, refineries, chemical plants, power generation, water or wastewater treatment
  • Worked in a fast-paced environment with frequent change such as facility commissioning and start-up
  • Demonstrated job history in a variety of roles such as operations, commissioning and start-up, maintenance, supervision, projects, operational readiness assurance, work planning and permitting, etc.

Education and Qualifications

  • Additional post-secondary education or training will be considered as an asset
  • Water operations, power engineering or production operations certification, preferably at a high level
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Strong ability to foster customer-client relationships
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
