EXPERIENCE, SKILL and ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
- 10 years of experience in CICS systems programmer experience required.
- Highly motivated with the willingness to take ownership / responsibility for the work and the ability to work alone or as part of a team. required.
- 7 years of experience in Expertise with the following: z/OS, CICS, JCL, SMP/E, VSAM, CPSM, and IPCS required.
- 7 years of experience in Knowledge in Assembler, COBOL, JAVA, and/or REXX preferred.
- 7 years of experience in Experience in CICS Systems support, proficient with CICS system dumps as well as CICS System internal and CICS interfaces required.
- Demonstrate expert understanding of the infrastructure software, including analysis, design, coding, system and user testing, problem diagnostics and resolution planning required.
- 10 years of experience in experienced Systems Programmer with a desire to stay current with technology required.
- Provisioning, maintaining, and enhancing CICS Transaction Server infrastructures on z/OS platforms required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
- Advising management and peers on technical strategy and solutions required.
- Working across groups to identify opportunities for organization-wide technology initiatives required.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Includes load balancing of workload for performance and reliability.
- Capacity management:
- Monitoring performance.
- Maintaining performance monitoring tools and coding.
- Ongoing monitoring to avoid potential performance issues.
- Install & maintain CICS and related software. Knowledge of SMPE and USS required to support the product environment.
- Implementation and exploitation of CICSPlex to support the environment.
- Often requires coding a sample for the situation in play and/or possibly maintaining an unique interface program for the foreseeable future.
- Reacting to performance situations reported and correcting any issues determined.
- Updating as needed the CICS environment for new and changed applications.
- Implementation and exploitation of CICS features to support development.
- Usage for managing the environment such as event detection.
- Assisting development with situations like outside connection issues that can cause performance situations.
- Reviewing performance of various interface setting to actual workload and adjusting for the capacity needed allowing for performance considerations.
- Reviewing the workload against capacity plans and adjusting as needed.
- Support any additional products assigned as needed.
- Security management for CICS interfaces including SSL certificate management.
