REQUISITION SUMMARY
The Lead Aircraft Technician reports to the Director of Maintenance and will be responsible for completing maintenance on company owned aircraft to include scheduled, unscheduled, flight discrepancies, due items, and inspections. Work closely with the Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor to ensure assigned aircraft is airworthy and available for service, including additional duties assigned. With minimum supervision required, complete the duties described in this section, to include supporting paperwork required (e.g., aircraft logbook entries, aircraft maintenance tracking program “CAMP” entries, PACCAR maintenance record keeping section of this manual, etc.)
JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Additional duties for Denton Facility:
- Work flexible aircraft schedule, which may include weekends, evenings, and occasional split shifts to launch and recover company aircraft.
- Work closely with approved maintenance organizations as the need arises, to schedule maintenance (Scheduled or Unscheduled).
- Repair of discrepancies identified by a crew member or during maintenance.
- Update the Aircraft Maintenance Logbook prior to departure.
- Other duties assigned by the Director of Maintenance.
- Post flight Inspections.
- Create a maintenance planning document for upcoming scheduled maintenance on each assigned aircraft.
- Documents and tracks facility inspections.
- Visit approved maintenance organizations while company aircraft are being repaired.
- Complete annual departmental and corporate training.
- Attend Annual Aircraft Specific Training Courses by approved training providers.
- Remain available via company provided cell phone (Email/Text/Phone).
- Maintain stock and consumables as well as ordering parts.
- Collection and drop off deliveries to include parts and hangar supplies.
- Inspects, cleans, and performs preventative maintenance on vehicles, support equipment and special tools.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 8 years’ experience maintaining business jet aircraft.
- Valid Passport and driver’s license.
- Ability to interpret FAA regulations.
- Ability to pass TSA background screening for Port of Seattle ID badge and ramp driving privileges.
- Able to provide personal tools and toolbox for Company work assignments.
- Team player with excellent communication and computer competent.
- Demonstrated experience as a lead mechanic with the ability to work independently.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Aviation Maintenance Degree preferred, but not required.
- Citation Excel experience preferred.
- Dassault Falcon 50EX aircraft highly preferred.
- Safety Management Systems (SMS) and risk assessment.
- Inspection Authorization (IA) certificate preferred, but not required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
- High School diploma.
- Current Airframe & Power Plant certificate (A&P) required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Lifting up to 50 lbs
- Working indoors and outdoors in all types of weather.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, pushing and pulling.
