Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Strategic direction and execution of advocacy plans for the Latin America and Mexico regions for Americas Upstream.
  • Reach broadly across government affairs, corporate affairs, business development, and the Americas Upstream business assets to gain alignment on key business objectives and priorities.
  • Accountable for anticipating, identifying, and mitigating above ground risks to Chevron’s Upstream business interests and operations throughout Latin America and Mexico.
  • Engage with multiple levels of the enterprise and senior business leadership to provide political insight and analysis, which influences the direction of business development and the overall corporate affairs strategy.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to engage effectively with U.S. Government officials who are responsible for policy toward these regions at the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. Department of Energy as well as the White House
  • Experience and familiarity in engaging foreign embassies and senior officials from Latin America and Mexico
  • Deep substantive knowledge and experience in dealing with sanctions policies that affect the energy sector throughout Latin America and Mexico region
  • Bachelor´s degree
  • Speak Spanish and have demonstrated experience in managing relationships with external consultants, trade and business associations as well as think tanks that have programs dealing with Latin America and Mexico
