Primary Focus

The Office of Language Services (LS) Project Manager (Mid-level) is tasked to directly support the daily operations of A/OPR/LS in accordance with industry best practices for interpretation and translation project management, Federal and Department of State Acquisition Regulations, Federal Travel Regulations, and Department policies. All duties and responsibilities performed in accordance with the Core Values of Cayuse.

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate audio-visual equipment and systems in interpretation lab.
  • Meet and escort trainees and examinees.
  • Issue portable simultaneous interpretation equipment as needed. Track and record use and return of equipment in automated program management system.
  • Communicate assignment information between language service provider, A/OPR/LS management, and client.
  • Schedule interpreting or translating exams for prospective language service providers at direction of A/OPR/LS management. Assist in coordination between Testing Coordinators and exam proctors and evaluators.
  • Collect assignment feedback from language service provider and client. Direct performance and assignment feedback to appropriate A/OPR/LS managers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Contact potential language service providers from pool of pre-qualified candidates to determine availability.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements between A/OPR/LS project managers, client, language service provider, and logistical support vendors.
  • Enter client request and language service provider assignment data into A/OPR/LS automated program management system job to generate cost estimates, client billing statements, requests for obligations, and task orders to language service providers.

Minimum Job Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in international relations, foreign language, or related field desirable
  • Professional interpreting or T&I project management experience desirable
  • Secret Clearance Required.
  • Foreign language experience (interpretation or translation services), or related field desirable
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Minimum Skills:

  • Ability to multitask and have practical time management skills.
  • Strong organization and communications skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Self-starter with the ability to learn new tasks and skills.
  • Team Player
