Summary of Position:
The Landscaping Manager will report into the Property Manager with exposure to many other leadership functions within the corporation. The horticultural operations and management scope of work for the building entails plant care in three distinct building areas:
  • Interior Lobby: Four large planters located in the main lobby area of the street level entry floor.
  • Streetscape: Includes 40 street trees located in 31 separate sidewalk planting beds, 7 entry area planters, and a potential vine trellis located at the south side of the 10th Avenue entry.
  • Building Roof Terraces: there are roof terraces of varying size and complexity on 65 separate floors of the building.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan for upcoming maintenance tasks & replacements
  • Supervise horticultural techniques & care performed by contractors. Work to include establishing pruning techniques, seasonal cut back, vine training, deadheading, review fertilizing application to meet base planting design aesthetics
  • Perform regular (daily or multiple times per week) site visits to review plant status , all year round
  • Manage seasonal changes, replanting and adjustments for a 365 -day look good outcome
  • Compile monthly reports to share with building management & stakeholders
  • Create a system to monitor & track all plants to develop an up to date status of all plants to plan for necessary maintenance and upcoming replacements.
  • Oversee annual tree maintenance/pruning to meet size requirements
  • Cooperate with property management of the building to ensure there is alignment in all aspects of the operation
  • Oversee and monitor hand watering
  • Oversee annual soil testing & soil amendment methods
  • Work with multiple parties to ensure success of the different landscaping elements
About You:
Qualifications:
  • 5 – 10 years of experience as a landscaper / horticulturalist or similar
  • Bachelor’s degree, ideally within a relevant industry

  • Onsite presence is required for this position.
The base compensation range for this role is $110,000 to $130,000. This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, as well as access to our comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) plan (with matching contributions), wellness benefits and all other benefits afforded to full-time Tishman Speyer employees.
This base range reflects a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skill sets, and/or licensure required of an individual in this particular role. The base range is also specific to members of Tishman Speyer’s New York team, as we’ve considered factors specific to this geography.
