We are currently seeking a motivated individual for Landscaping/Facility cleanup. This individual will be responsible for the upkeep of our facility grounds and assigned employees housing grounds. The Landscaper/Facility Clean-up will be responsible for the cultivation and care of business and housing grounds including, but not limited to: cutting grass, weeding, edging, trimming of flowers, shrubs, and trees. Maintaining the condition and appearance of our facility grounds and housing free of debris and harmful insects.

Job Type: Full Time (50+hours)

Monday - Friday with an Occasional Saturday

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS

The Landscaper/Facility Clean-Up is responsible for all yard facility clean-up and the cultivation and care of the business grounds and assigned employee housing grounds. Ensuring and maintaining the condition and appearance of the houses, trees, shrubs, flowers, and lawns. Keeping the grounds free of debris and harmful insects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in action planning process.
  • Planting of new decorative bushes, flowers, plants, and shrubs.
  • Collection and disposal of stray trash, debris, and waste on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for machinery and equipment on the yard including but not limited to, zero-turn, blower, weed eater, pressure washers, etc.
  • Understand basic machine components and operation.
  • Participate in maintenance duties such as cleaning walkways and parking lots, painting, and other duties.
  • Operate machinery, or other equipment as required.
  • All other duties assigned by supervisor and management.
  • Daily lawn care and maintenance of the mill grounds and assigned housing to include mowing, watering, raking, weeding, trimming, and blowing leaves.
  • Communicate directly with supervisor on a daily basis.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prefer 6+ months work experience in a similar position.
  • Proficient knowledge of maintaining lawns, and grounds.
  • Possess adequate fitness and stamina in order to conduct strenuous and physically demanding tasks.
  • Able to clearly explain problems or give instructions to others involved in keeping operations running smoothly.
  • Able to perform the job with little to no supervision.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of how to properly use yard machinery and equipment.
  • Able to work well in an industrial environment, and as part of a team.
  • Arrive on time and stay on task in order to contribute to better output and reaching production goals.
  • Understand and follow oral or written instructions issued by supervisor or management.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Perform tasks such as walking, climbing, or standing for long periods of time.
  • Able to bend, stoop, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs.
  • Must be comfortable working around loud equipment.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. throughout work shift.
  • Able to work while in a harness at heights over 4 feet.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.

SAFETY

  • Visually inspect equipment and area before starting/operating.
  • Follow all area/machine center specific safety regulations.
  • Use Standard Lockout Procedures when appropriate for machine centers.
  • Request assistance when a task exceeds individual knowledge.
  • Follow all other safety regulations as set forth by the company.
  • Use proper lifting technique by pushing, pulling, and lifting with your legs and not your back.
  • Do not enter restricted areas.
  • Report immediately to your supervisor or any available supervisor any piece of equipment that is unsafe or functioning improperly to eliminate unsafe conditions.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment, i.e., hardhat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and reflective wear.
  • Never approach a saw while it is still running.
